Christmas Is Coming

These Danish butter cookies are my favorite Christmasy cookies, I think. My favorites usually come in tins, I find. What are yours? Today will be spent baking like mad since Tom and I are giving out baked goods this year for gifts, and then a dinner tonight, a warm yule log fire while sipping eggnog and cider, followed by an early brunch tomorrow in our Christmas outfits, more baking, and then Christmas dinner. WOW. I hope everyone has a fantastic next few days and you’re with the people you love.

Though Tom and I didn’t have a tree this year (it’s still in Michigan, with all my ornaments) or decorations, we went out of our way to get in the spirit. Our house smells like pine and baked goods, we have cookies, and most importantly, we have each other. This is our first Christmas in our first home together. We are so thankful that we’re together for it instead of suffering from long distance like we were for seven years. And that’s the important part. Family, whether it’s blood or bonded. Merry Christmas, everyone. The warmest holiday wishes from me to you.

Merry Xmas from an Italian reader!
This year I’ve baked muffins as a present for a couple of friends, too. 🙂

That’s the spirit! 😀 I think that’s a wonderful gift idea too and as you say, your neighbours will be loving you for what you’re doing to the apartment building!

Ah, Christmas long distance. Brendan and I are familiar with that too. 🙁 This is Christmas #7 for us too! Or 8. Keep your fingers crosses for us – Big B is trying to snag the car so we too can have a Christmas Eve together. A few hours is better than nothing. 🙂
