Personal Words & Photos With Tom

We Have Foliage

Fun as holidays are, they completely throw off my week. If you had asked me moments ago what day it was, I would have told you Thursday– which, not so coincidentally is why this post is late.

I’ve got more nature-y type shots this time. Next post I’m going to try and capture more of the urban type environment where we live, because if my recent posts are anything to go by you might be deceived into thinking we live in some sort of natural wonderland. Not the case. (Unfortunately.)

The other 2 pictures are of a school, one of many copy and pasted built around our suburban sprawl. I always thought they looked a bit prison-ish to me with their tiny windows (Often with wires between panes.) but that may just be me…

One thing that’s always disappointed me when it comes to doing landscape photography is that the photo never, ever does the landscape justice. Maybe that’s me just being amateurish and not knowing how to capture them properly, as I’ve definitely seen some phenomenal landscape photos, but I never feel as if I’m able to capture the feeling I get when I’m in front of a sprawling mountain range or a deep chasm.

Anywho, here they are:

You’re not the only one that thinks that about the schools here. As for landscape photography, I find that focusing 2/3s of the way into the shot sometimes helps.

Thanks Krysta, I’ll try that with the landscape shots.
