2008Canadia Land (An Update)

(Only usually by the time he comes home the bed is made, I swear.)

This was the exact model I was looking at purchasing half a year ago (only in red), but I thought maybe I was being a bit ridiculous. I’ve now come to realize that I’d rather save up a little bit longer and have this washer and dryer set from LG than the crappy washer and dryer combo I had back in Michigan. I’m spoiled now, yes, I realize this. I don’t have to bend over and all such craziness. And the compartments at the bottom of the washer are nice too.

Speaking of spoiled. Simple pleasures, friends. Simple pleasures.

WHAT HAPPENED TO THE MILK? I guess here they have them in bags. It’s a lot more efficient space wise, and you just fill up your pitcher when you want more. I think it’s funny that Tom is a bit lactose intolerant, and so he can only have Skim milk. I used to be an avid 2% drinker, but since my heart condition, I cut back to Skim. Another reason why we are perfect for each other. (Are you gagging yet?)

Tom’s dad cooking us some delicious supper. SUUUUPPPPERRR. That’s supper, not super. Well, I guess it could be super too. SUUUPPPPPERRR SUUUPPPPPPPPERRR. (That’s Super Supper!)
Perhaps I’ll do a video tour soon! What do you guys think? I’m a bit grumpy about my YouTube situation, which is why I haven’t made videos in a while. (SimplyStardust is taken. Along with Simply Sara. So I either have to find a new one or continue to use ChasingTwilight. DECISIONS, decisions.) You may think I’m being a bit dramatic (and maybe I am) but I really like having everything match.
Anyway, I’d love to show you guys around- and really what I want to share is how much of my life I brought with me. Or rather how much I left behind. (I’m so proud of myself.) I have two loads of laundry (like I always wanted- FOR YEARS), I got rid of almost all my shoes, I left behind ALL MY JOURNALS except the one I’m currently working on, all my photos, and brought a few books, games, and my movie case. Oh, and I forgot to bring my hair dryer and curling iron- but remembered my bubbles? (I think I was stressed.) My journals and photographs are in tubs to be stored back in Michigan. Which I plan on going back for at some point.
Anyway, as Tom says, “I’m a minimalist at heart”, and I feel really good to finally have my life reflecting that.

Ooh, I really want that washer dryer set. Especially right now when I don’t even have a washer and dryer! Ugh, laundromat.
I know what you mean about wanting everything to match. I was so sad when I got a flickr account and Heatherica was taken. It really upset me for a while and I hate the name I have now and want to change it, but I’m never sure what to change it to.
I’m so jealous of your ability to leave things behind and minimalize!! I felt like I was doing pretty good getting rid of a ton of stuff this last move, but I still have way too much. I need help!
Paige
I hate waiting for brian to get off work, I know how that goes.
Boo
Ha. I knew about milk in bags… ever since Kiki and I spent a weekend there with host family for Rotary. I also know about wash rooms and snow machines and Tim Hortons, etc…
Dani
Milk in bags? Is it liquid? It seems like it should be powdered milk in a bag. But still…WTF.
As for “supper,” I thought that was a southern thing. I don’t say it, but plenty of people around here in SC do. I had no idea Canadians said it.
I’m glad you are adjusting, and I’m glad you are happy being a minimalist. I wish I could be a minimalist. I don’t know where we’re going to put all Kyle’s shit when we get married and he moves in with me. I barely have room for all of MY crap.
I can’t wait to see that video tour.
JP Morgan
Glad to see you’re adapting to the Great White North, eh!! Good Luck.

“Supper” is the ugliest word in the English language. I just thought I’d let you know that.

haha, everyone ALWAYS comments on the milk in bags thing. my friend moved here from new jersey and had to send a photo back to all her friends because they didn’t believe her! it’s funny how such a little thing is so different…
Emma
Milk in bags wtf.
