2011Home Grown Food Animals

Probably one of the coolest things hanging out in our kitchen is our Home Grown animals-from-food figurines. Tom and I discovered these adorable creations them when we were visiting Frankenmuth last Christmas. They were certainly the main attraction in the Bronner’s Christmas store; about twenty of them sat in a glass display case toward the back of the store and it was hard to get photos of each one due to the low lighting and crowd, but they are just too cute not to share. I didn’t realize I had yet to share them until I was pruning my saved drafts for posts (sometimes I start posts and never finish them!) and I found the start of this tucked away. Obviously I became excited all over again and just HAD to put everything on hold to share them with you today, but I’ll have to split it into two posts because there are just so many of them. Which ones are your favorites?

These are AMAZING! Each one is unbelievable! I’m so glad you found this post again and decided to share. I love them all, but as koalas are my favorite.. I’ve gotta choose the koala as my favorite. : )
Dani
The second one my favorite, although the owl, sting ray and snake apple are pretty rad! These photos are awesome!
Are these all ones that you bought, or are these photos taken in the store?
Sara
I love the owl and sting ray as well. (I also like the peacock and Tom adores the elephant apple.) No, we didn’t buy them all- we only brought one home but I thought I’d share it at the end. We actually liked them so much that we thought we’d start a modest collection.
