2010Rainy Days Are For Tea
And for keeping dry and warm, too.
Reader and friend Ashling from New Zealand sent me a delightful little parcel which contained several goodies, but what I’m talking about in this post is The T Shop’s Green Tea “Strawberries and Cream”. Oh. my WORD. You New Zealanders are lucky! Now I’m on the hunt for a local shop that will do a green tea with strawberry goodness too. It was literally so good I could have had the whole pot to myself. And I’ve made one every day since. (To put that in perspective, I generally have one or two cups of tea a day, which is of course nowhere near an entire pot.) And I have a funny story to tell you, if you haven’t heard it already. The back of the package instructed to put 1 tsp in “85 deg water” and it literally took me a few minutes before I realized that it meant degree. And here I thought I’d learned a neat new New Zealander word. WHOOPS.
It’s been raining (and storming!) the last few days but it was nice, sunny, and hot today so I hope it’s that way for the rest of you! I might not be around the next few days because some awesome people are visiting Tom and I tomorrow from Michigan and staying through till Thursday. But as always, I’ll be taking pictures, and I’ll return with lots to share!

Wow, what teapot is that? It looks adorable. Seems like the infuser handles small tea leaves well too.

It’s a little pot we picked up from our local Superstore, something like Target in the United States. I tried Googling it to see if I could find one for you to order, but no luck! It’s actually really great because you can use it for bags or loose leaf and it pours really well and you can even take the infuser out and put the tea leaves in the pot and then put the infuser over your cup! We love it! I’ll see if I can find the box for you and get a brand. =}
Cream cheese connoisseur
You’re such a disappointment to me–how could you have skimped so much on the cream cheese? Those bagels are so lonely and sorrowful right now, just look at them they are sad bagels crying “I feel underdressed”

I suspect this is a certain awesome person visiting me from Michigan TONIGHT, but if it isn’t I’m terribly sorry! But you should know you have a sense of humor that another awesome person happens to have. And it’s awesome.
But, to respond! It’s actually funny because I AM a cream cheese connoisseur as well, and my bagels are usually LOADED on top, BUT, we were OUT OF THE SPREADABLE kind and I was forced to try and spread the cooking block of cream cheese. After being spoiled on the spreadable kind for so long, it proved too difficult for me. I’d say this was a huge fail.

I’m torn because I absolutely love thunderstorms! But lately it’s been just rain and no storms, in which case, I agree with you whole heartedly! It makes photography a pain!
Also, I love bagels too! (As if that wasn’t obvious.)
