Tasty Tofu! A Zesty Herb Marinade


The most common complaint about tofu is that it’s “too bland”. Well, of course it is when you’re eating it by itself! You need to put some flavor into that sponge and let it soak it up first! So what the heck do you marinate tofu in, other than soy sauce? BBQ Sauce? (Oooh noooo.) Here is a delightful marinade for your tofu, I promise you’ll be delightfully surprised. I think this will a fantastic replacement of chicken or crab to compliment any pasta with white sauce. ENJOY!

What You Need

    ☑ 4 tbsp olive oil
    ☑ 2 1/2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
    ☑ 4 cloves galric, minced
    ☑ 1 tbsp fresh chopped basil (or 1 tsp dried)
    ☑ 1 tsp fresh chopped thyme (or 1/3 tsp. dried)
    ☑ 1 tsp fresh chopped rosemary (or 1/3 tsp dried)
    ☑ 1/2 tsp salt






Sometimes lemon can be too tart for me, so next time I’m going to try using orange juice instead and see what happens. But for those of you that don’t mind that tart kick, you’ll love this.

    I’m curious to know when you decided to become a vegetarian (or vegan)? Your pictures make it look delicious. I don’t know if I could try tofu…

    Very interesting. I have never tried tofu, but i will give it a shot.
    The grilled vegies, made my mouth water, looking at the pictures. Were those marinated? If so with what??

    I’ve gotta say, I usually hate tofu; but this was pretty good. I’m a sucker for lemon though.

    It’s definitely worth a shot if you’re aiming to spice up some tofu though, and I’m sure it would be great if you added it to a dish. When we had it, we had it on its own. I think the fact that it was pretty tasty as is says a lot.

    Why the “oh no” for BBQ sauce, though? I’m a barbecue sauce addict, admittedly, and we eat crispy fried tofu baked in BBQ sauce maybe once a week around this joint. Can’t get enough of that smoky sweet ‘n’ spicy.

    That looks really good. I loooove tofu, but I’m always hesitant to buy it myself because I never know what to do with it. I guess now I know :). (PS I miss you! <3)
