Some Cats Are Talkers

For every one photo I take of Pumpkin with his mouth closed, I take one of him talking. Okay, so that’s probably a bit of an exaggeration, but some days it’s worse than others. Pumpkin likes to cuddle in the mornings before breakfast, and when I get up and immediately start taking photos, he will follow me to wherever I am and proceed to tell me I’m forgetting something important. This was the case here. I forget what I was taking photos of but it was probably food because it’s in the kitchen. So he gets up on the windowsill and starts meowing at me to notice him, and of course I do, and… instead of cuddling I start taking photos instead! (Of course we cuddled afterwards.) Anyway, talking cats are my favorites. You know, the ones you can look in the eye and say something to them, and they’ll meow back? And then you say something else and they’ll respond? It’s like you’re actually having a conversation! I say “like” there because even though I think I am having a conversation I realize most people might consider that a little on the crazy side. Speaking of “like”, I did cut it out of my vocabulary (in instances other than similes and comparisons), for those that were wondering! Oh and Lauren, for these 8 photos I shared of Pumpkin, I took 12! (I promise I’ll do a post on workflow soon!)

PS: Check out the black spots on Pumpkin’s lips and nose. Those are the kitty version of freckles. I love this because we both have orange hair, freckles, and love to cuddle.

Aren’t Saturday’s exciting? Today I have big plans. Plans that involve tidying up all sort of spaces, including the apartment, a few web spaces, going for a picnic lunch, and a mile run. The cats however, well they have other plans. Apparently it’s sleeping all day. What are your plans for today?

   

Closed Cat-tions! Macros In The Making

So these aren’t the best photos in the world (out of focus, blown out spots, etc) but they make me laugh out loud each time I see them, so that means they’re worth sharing. I thought we could play a little game, but before that, let me just assure these goof balls are just playing. The fast action shots sometimes catch crazy moments that look pretty darn convincing, but see here if you’re in doubt. And now, the game is simple. Just add some creative captions to one or two (or all) of the photos and place them in the comments, just be sure to label which photo (by # is fine) you’re caption, err, cat-tioning! The first and the second photo have me tearing up I’m laughing so hard, the options are simply endless!

It’s Caturday folks! I’ve been resting, and by resting I really mean we’ve been watching finales to some of our favorite shows, and playing a bit of Red Dead Redemption, none of which is photography related so I’ll end there. I’ve been really enjoying reading my manual, though, even though normally I wouldn’t read the manual. I’m more of a hands on girl. I like to tinker and fiddle. It took me reading the manual for the XTi (last year) to discover the custom color profiles I in turn shared with you, though, so I decided I’d best read through this beast so I know what all these buttons and bells and whistles do. I am so proud. Anyway, for your viewing pleasure, more cuddling cats.
