Now Introducing…

Okay, so I’m breaking one of my own rules. This is, in fact, a 365 photo but I just HAD to use it for this post as well. I’m sorry, but this is just too exciting and too good not to share. As most of you probably know I’ve had my portfolio up for ages, but the shop didn’t lead anywhere and I wasn’t offering my services. Well, now that I’m officially allowed to work here in Canada, I CAN and I HAVE. I ordered my very first set of business cards ever a few weeks ago and I’m bouncing off the walls with excitement.

When I lived in the US I had a great client base, but I relied mostly on word of mouth for my photo shoots. I was never brave enough to buy business cards and put myself out there, you know, “officially”. I thought about it, sure, but when you’re taking the leap from hobby to profession it can be kind of scary. It’s your love, your art, your passion out there for people to judge and ultimately your survival is in their hands. But I’m not scared anymore, because if I don’t ever try I will never succeed. I feel I am great at what I do and I love it with an engulfing fire that burns so hot and bright I know I’ll only get better. And you know what? That thought makes me so happy, it’s worth the risk. My shop is up and now includes: postcard sets, bookmark sets, handmade camera & cellphone charms, and of course custom prints.

I want to take a moment to send a heartfelt thank you to every single one of you readers. (Lurker, commenter, fellow photographer alike!) Without you, your constant feedback, encouragement and support I would not be taking this leap today. (76 “Likes” on Facebook?! That’s almost a hundred! I didn’t even expect half that much, if I’m honest.) I am humbled, truly. Thank you.

To Tom, my best friend and mate for life, thank you from the bottom of my heart for your never ending support. Without you holding my hand (and sometimes your gentle push), I wouldn’t be here either.

So here I am. Open for business.
