An Early Spring Exploration Date

Tom and I went for a walk today as it was, undoubtedly, the first “tee-shirt” weather of the year. I had a lot of fun getting out and seeing the wildlife and just resting at the park in the sun for a while. I’m excited for summer.

I saw a beaver in real life today!! A REAL ONE. I saw something huge moving in the water and babbled, “Wtfisthat? It’s swimming in THEOMGIT’SABEAVER.” (Tom couldn’t stop laughing.) Apparently seeing beavers is pretty common here but I’ve never seen one in real life (that I can remember) and I thought it was pretty cool. She’s not in the picture though because I’m dull and I spent too much time gaping at the fact that it was a real beaver practically chilling in our back yard instead of taking a picture. I maybe should have told you that before you spent all that time searching the photo for her. Sorry.

This bridge over the river is a suspension bridge, so when the wind blows it blows with. It was a bit shaky and I was convinced it was going to break while I was on it and send us spilling into the river, but Tom assured me it was safe.

I am convinced otherwise. Anything that is free to blow with the breeze isn’t something I want to be walking on. Though it was kind of cool.

Once I got onto the bridge I spent a bit of time staring at the river. It’s quite the change going from having such a huge body of water within five minutes to none at all. At least that’s what I thought. Then we found this river. I’ll spend a lot of days down here, for sure. I imagined these water stars were galaxies floating just out of reach for a while. So beautiful.

We spent some time resting in the grass at the park and ran into Jim, who was out taking video of his own little adventure. He took our picture and chatted for a bit then went on his way.

(I’ve included some of his videos, if you’re interested!)
