Goodbye Miss, Hello Mrs.

A Week of Props (Almost)

One of the suggestions I received from veterans of the project 365 was “props”. So I gave a little “oomph” this week in trying to think of props to use. It wasn’t that hard at all, actually.

Day one hundred and five was easy, because that’s the day Tom and I received an engagement/Christmas/birthday package from dear friend and comrade from Midget On The Edge. Inside were several homemade goodies, two handmade scarves, a very large personalized art mural with charactures of Tom and I in several different romantic scenes, (riding on a Lamborghini, playing Rock Band, etc) and toys and snacks for the cats. Thanks, Dani and Kyle!

One of my goals for this year was/is to read fifty-two books for leisure. Since graduating high school all those years ago, I really started slacking on books to read for myself, especially after the first few years of university. Who wants to do all that crap reading, anyway? Give me science fiction!

Day one hundred and six wrapped up my second knitting project. I’m still learning, and thus sticking to simple things that can help us around the house. It’s kind of neat to see my stuff around the house. This went on top of the back of the toilet so that the things resting on top would be protected from condensation and look nice. Plus, let’s face it, a knitted cover to match the bathroom looks much better than a plain top. It replaced a towel.

I don’t know when it happened, but not only do I like my freckles, but I’m proud of them too. Tom says he loves it when my hair is absolutely straight like it is when it’s fresh out of the shower. I tell him he’s crazy because it’s flat as a board and stringy.

But because I love him so much, I’ve taken to wearing it without product, and without curling a single strand. I doubt it will last more than a week before it drives me crazy. Also, I am in desperate need of a haircut.

Read, read, reading machine! (The book is Timeline.) I saw this movie several years ago and really liked it, plus I’m a huge sucker for time travel (when done properly) so I figured I’d give the book a try since it’s been sitting on my bookshelf for a few years. It’s fantastic! And so much better than the movie, it’s almost painful! I know, I know, you’re probably thinking, “Of course it is!” because that’s so common it should be a scientific theory. Except, of course, if we’re talking about Children of Men, because that movie was awesome and the book was, well, decidedly not as good. For all you fellow readers out there, feel free to add me on Goodreads!

I keep these next to my desk. Being a small town country girl, I definitely never had the chance to be fascinated by the neighbors. Yes, I realize I just admitted to being a creep. What?! People are interesting!

The thing about snuggling close to Morn is that he tends to lick your nose if you aren’t careful! Watch out! PS: He’s totally chuffed about all your comments on his last entry. I read him each one, and he was purring and VERY affectionate. (I also heard him telling Paddington in great detail later.)

Hee. Don’tcha hate that? Guys are so good at loving us in our least favorite moments. Chris LOVES my forehead and was sad when I finally got bangs. He’s overjoyed on the days where I don’t feel like washing my hair, so my bangs get pinned off to the side… good grief!

    Great shots!

I actually just finished re-reading Timeline, which is one of my all time favs. Was it just a random book you pulled off the shelf, or was it a specific pick?

I think the use of props was a great idea. Certainly a way to get you thinking creatively. The last photo is my favorite — there’s nothing like a kitty snuggle. (My cat Hugo looks a lot like Morn.)

You are SO very welcome for the package. I’m so glad you guys finally got it and can enjoy the contents. 🙂

I had a pair of binoculars at my parents house and am not sure what happened to them since I moved. They’d have been interesting to have when I lived downtown.

And I LOVE the toilet tank cover! I am definitely going to do that when we move. That’s such a great idea, and yours is gorgeous. 🙂
