Wow, I’m a bit delayed posting this, but Tom works one week on and one week off, so the weeks he doesn’t work we pretty much spend every waking minute doing something together. Like watching Dr. Who or playing Mass Effect.
Pumpkin is a huge needy cuddleball.
I finally finished my shampoo (pictured below) and switched to something new and already my hair is so much better. I included the details about it in the picture below, in case you’re interested. I plan on posting more information (and pictures) in a review post to come soon.
On day 115, I trimmed my fringe. I had other shots from this day but I ended up liking this one best. I just thought it was different and something unique.
So I tried this shampoo (Matrix Amplify) after hearing amazing things about it and how it’s supposed to really give you volume. I gave it a shot for quite a while (at least six months) and found that overall I really wasn’t a fan. It made my hair dry and brittle, course, and I didn’t really notice any difference in volume. I thought at first the dry and brittleness was brought on by winter, or possibly the fact that I stopped doing my weekly deep conditioner to instead wash with used coffee grounds, but when I switched, there was a notable difference immediately.
I’ve always loved unique jeans. Patches, paint splatters, etc. When I was in high school, I purchased this pair of jeans on clearance for $3. There were at least two entire racks full of these jeans. I guess they brought them out and nobody liked them. But boy, I loved them.
Tom loves straight hair but I love my curls. My hair’s been pretty dry lately though, so I was staying away from the iron. (Nah, I was just feeling lazy.) But since I switched shampoos, I’ve been sporting the curls for days!
I’ve been trying to make a point to pull out my tee shirts and give them a spin, because I haven’t worn them in ages. They’re so comfortable, I almost forgot how comfortable! This is one of my favorites, featuring Jem and the Holograms. I’ll admit, most of the girls my age don’t remember Jem because it had stopped playing by the time we were old enough to watch cartoons. But since I lived in Japan, the US TV shows came years later.
I’ve been slacking on my water intake lately, unfortunately. I try to hit at least two liters a day, but I’ve been barely making one. I think it’s due to the green tea I’ve been sneaking instead.

12 Feb 2010 at 11:28 amThey’re so huge! They lasted me a good nine months! I should have gone with smaller test bottles but they were too tiny for an actual good test run!

9 Feb 2010 at 1:06 pmI was Jem for Halloween one year! One of those costumes with the plastic mask and plastic tunic thing you wear over your clothes, lol. I have a picture somewhere with a snowman we made and put the Jem mask on!

9 Feb 2010 at 1:16 amI am absolutely in love with every single one of these photos. Thank you for sharing. My favourite though, I think, is a tie between the teacup photo and the one with the orange tint with you standing in front of a window with your straight hair. (Hooray for long run-on sentences). Also, I really love the Jem photo… you look totally psyched about that shirt. I’m glad to see someone else is a Jem fanatic.
I seriously want to know what you use to wash your face, if anything. I know a lot of people these days don’t even use anything but a regular bar of soap on their face and they have the best complexions ever. But I really love your skin in the teacup photo. And reading that sentence makes me laugh and sound like a creep 🙂
I like the fact that Tom has the rotating weeks. I know some people who complain about them, but I think it works because it gives you enough time to really relax with your partner and enjoy each other to the fullest one week and then the next week you can focus on your work.

12 Feb 2010 at 12:09 pmI don’t really use anything in particular on my face, just whatever body wash I’m using at the time since it usually isn’t as harsh as soap.
I think a lot of times products specifically for your face contain ingredients to actually dry out your skin or irritate it. And if they don’t, they’ll contain ingredients that cause your face to break out if you stop using the product.
I never used anything but soap and or body wash growing up and of course had the occasional pimple, but no real issues. I also never wore foundation and I think that might have something to do with it.
Things that can really effect your skin are exercise and diet, so you might want to do some research on that. =]
