I’m not a fan of cranberry, as you may or may not remember, but I wanted this jar. And Tom loves cranberry (and apple cider) so that’s the story behind this one.
After leaving all my art supplies back in Michigan because I never used them, I suddenly decided it was time to start painting again. Unfortunately, if you live in Canada, it seems the only place to find decent art supplies is Michael’s. If I were still in the states I would’ve recommended Michael’s in a heart beat, but for some reason in Canada Michael’s wants you to sell your soul if you want a single sketchbook. I’m not kidding. A single sketchbook was $30. Pretty sure I used to pick those up at Borders for $8. So Tom was kind enough to drive me to a questionable part of Toronto (they had bars on the windows of the shop, seriously) after dark to a cute little art supply store to get some watercolor supplies. I’m pretty excited to try my hand at some art. It’s been several years since I did anything. The last time I touched watercolor (or any art in general, really) was in ’04!
I’m not sure if this really counts as a 365, but it was a rainy day and I really found this photo interesting.
Another gloomy day, but in an attempt to spice up the project I did a diptych. I just hope I don’t get addicted all over again.
I had to pull out my 18-55mm crap lens for this shot. Never again.
Random note: The only things I drink = water, orange juice, regular loose leaf green tea, and an occasional hot chocolate/cider.
So that pretty much sums up my week. Nothing interesting happened except OH WAIT!! ONLY THE THING I’VE BEEN WAITING OVER A YEAR FOR!! All that’s left is to cross the border with my papers and this nice little addition to my passport and I’ll officially be a landed immigrant. Heck yes. Niagara Falls vacation here we come! (I’ve never been!)
Oh, and I used Photoshop to wipe out all the important info off the passport. No identity theft for me.

18 Mar 2010 at 11:57 amI have no idea what happened to our giant jug that you were eyeing! This summer we’ll have to arrange a few adventures for that sort of thing. Well, late summer I supposed would be best for cider. ^^

17 Mar 2010 at 6:26 pmI love that you have Wellesley cider – I grew up not too far from there. I’m much more of an Elmira maple syrup girl though.
I can’t recall – are you moving TO Canada from Michigan? Or just here for a visit?
keep up the great photo work – I love your photo-eye!
