I am absolutely 100% sick of this project. I don’t want to give up but I’m finding it really hard to come up with interesting/quality shots every day while stuck inside. I’m probably having severe cabin fever, but man, I’m just not sure how many more faces against plain walls I can handle.
I won’t give up, but I could use some tips from any 365 vets!
Canadian post is typically quite slow, and today we received a batch of Christmas cards from international friends Diana and Ashling. The cards are strung up above our fireplace (thanks Bronwyn) and Ashling’s Japanese greeting rests on top and the origami butterflies rest on top of the candle terrariums Bronwyn gifted me.
Awesome.
Thanks to everyone who sent cards, they made my day.

22 Jan 2010 at 2:01 pmWell, you know I only made it to day 120something of my 365 project, and I cheated a few times, so I send you kudos to sticking to lovely!
I’ve been playing with lights and shadows and the shapes that bodies make lately. Maybe try something like that if you haven’t already?

19 Jan 2010 at 11:32 amHa! I feel like an old lady for suggesting that. You photos don’t bore me in the slightest but I can see how you’d be getting tired of it! Even a 365 anything would kill me. That said, I better get posting, heh.

18 Jan 2010 at 10:50 pmI’m pleased my card made it over there ^_^
What about incorporating messages into your portraits? They could be written on paper or on a screen. You could finger spell messages over successive days. I guess it might be cheating, but it’s probably what I’d do.

18 Jan 2010 at 9:31 pmHow long until you guys get hitched? What level of detail is this requiring?
I’m struggling, Sara. I have barely anything to organise (doing things unconventionally, of course) however things are still a bit of a nightmare. No matter how basic and informal I make things, there’s still ‘other people’ to consider.
Ugggggghhhhh. Can we have an email young-brides-venting club?

18 Jan 2010 at 8:20 pmHi Sara! I do the 365 on Flickr (http://www.flickr.com/photos/apricot_tea/sets/72157620825204662/) & I understand; it does get a bit difficult to think of creative, intriguing shots. Especially when you’re living a lackluster life (& here, I’m speaking for myself!). I’m on day 202, & when I get stuck in the rut, I try to take snapshots of things around my home that are significant & tell a story. It doesn’t quite encompass my entire day, but it does make for an interesting picture. Lately, I’m stopped relying on things happening throughout my day to take pictures of. Now, I’m relying on the interesting pieces in my apartment that make me feel warm & fuzzy.
I don’t know if that helps at all. But don’t give up! I think it’s great that you’ve managed to get this far, & I think you’re doing well. & speak for yourself when you say that the shots of your face are getting boring. I adore them. :] You have a gorgeous face.

18 Jan 2010 at 8:54 pmThanks so much for the tips! I wish I had done a 365 anything project, but I opted for a portrait project since it was marking down one year until Tom and I have a wedding ceremony. I thought it fitting.
Thanks SO much for the tips. I will keep those things in mind. Warm fuzzies + challenges. =)
