13 Days in Michigan (Day Twelve)

Our friend Kara spent a year in Taiwan and then six months in mainland China after that. She’s majoring in Chinese studies and when I think of where she’ll be in five years it’s definitely overseas. She taught us all how to make dumplings.

She also shared Milk Tea, which was AMAZING, and Tom and I made note of it so we could snag some.

Bronwyn’s beautiful necklace and some random fake casings on the counter.

And as I was piecing this entry together I realized how hungry for dumplings I was. So Tom and I made Kara’s recipe. It made 64 dumplings. Yikes. YIKES. We’re thinking we could half the recipe, twice even, and that would be way plenty.

=)

What kind of dumplings are they? They look delicious! Is there any way you could post the recipe? My sister & I are trying to think of new things to cook at our apartment so that we don’t have to eat microwave food all the time! XD

Oh my gosh, those dumplings look amazing. Do they have meat in them? I’d love to have the recipe if Kara is willing to share. Even if they have meat, we can alter it a bit.

I love Bronwyn’s necklace, too. That picture is awesome.

Hahaha I love remembering the discovery of the air conditioner and how that was a terrible terrible idea. We look a little miserable at the end! But mmmm dumplings. Clearly I need to help you eat these. 😉

My boyfriend and I made Chinese food on Monday! I made dumplings, walnut shrimp, and chinese broccoli. He made a whole steamed tilapia, shrimp and lobster sauce, and the sauce to put on the broccoli. It was pretty incredible<3
