We spent Canada Day (July 1st) this year down in Michigan photographing a wedding, but came home just in time to spend Independence Day (July 4th) back in Canada. Boy, it was a lot of work! I had Tom as my second shooter and we spent 9 hours shooting- that’s a lot of time to be on your feet. But the chef made us a special meal, it was delicious, and it was really nice to see two good friends from high school finally tying the knot. In an effort to conserve memory card space I didn’t shoot much of our adventure before the wedding, and the day after I accidentally left my battery in the charger while we were out. Luckily my friend Will was kind enough to let me borrow his camera, so when he gets a chance to send those over to me, I will share them. We even brought Morn and Pumpkin along for the adventure but I didn’t take any photos of them conquering the hotel room! (They were wonderful.) I miss my family already and am really kicking myself for not taking proper photos of family and friends together. But there’s always next time. I hope all the Canadian readers had a fabulous 1st and I hope all the American readers had a spectacular 4th.

*Photograph #9 was taken by my sister Kimee (can you believe it?)
