A few weeks ago now Tom’s great aunt (in every sense) came to visit from Ireland and one particular thing we did was go to Crawford Lake. It was raining when we left, and since rain is obviously no deterrent for the Irish, we headed out anyway, only to be greeted by the sun just as we arrived. One thing I really like about where we live is that sometimes it’s overwhelmingly city life, but a twenty minute drive puts you back in quiet, beautiful nature. For me it’s an excellent way to refuel and “re-energize”.

16 Jun 2011 at 9:18 amWhere I live, this is all I see. I’m not much of a city girl at all, so it suits me just fine. Gotta love small town life! I love your photos. The lighting is amazing. The rain didn’t seem to ruin anything did it? : )

15 Jun 2011 at 3:20 pmBeautiful photos, Sara! It looks so serene, like the perfect place to set up camp and break out the gingham.
I know what you mean about the city life, too. Even though I come from an extremely small city, it’s still a place that tries to act like a big city. But no matter how suffocating it was, there were always two mountains and a handful of nat’l parks a short drive away. Definitely a good compromise.

I love living on the outskirts of a city: I can get to the heart of downtown in 15 minutes or lose myself in wilderness by driving 15 minutes in the other direction.
