Our Secret Place

Both this weekend and earlier this week Tom and I went out hiking and took some time to visit the “Secret Place”, which is a small clearing just off the hiking trail and hidden behind trees and shrubbery with a great view of the valley below and access to the cliff that leads to a waterfall and adjoining river.







The first day was overcast and windy, but it was still warm. We spent most of our time on the cliff, making goofy home videos, taking photos, enjoying the view, reading and just relaxing with each other.

We were on our way to see the second more public waterfall when it started to rain, so we doubled back and called it a day. But yesterday we went with his mother and her husband and the sun was shining and though it was a little colder, we were able to see it again. It was quite the day. I’m still sore and exhausted from all the hiking! We were out there by three and didn’t get home until eleven thirty!
