Spring is here for us! It’s slipping from warm to cold back to warm again, and the flowers are blooming and critters are coming out to play. A few weeks ago Tom and I went to a park to see the sakura blossoms, but the park was actually closed when we arrived, so we didn’t get to go in. There were still some trees on the outskirts, however, which was more than enough for me. In Japan the cherry trees are a big deal and entire cities carry the smell. It really signifies spring and brings back a lot of fond childhood memories for me, so I was happy to have the chance to enjoy them.
These photos were all processed with an action (Our Picnic In The Grass) from the new set, and it’s pretty much my new favorite action, but I wanted to wait to share these photos until I was closer to releasing the set. I wrapped up the final touches today, will be whipping up some sample shots, and should be placing them in the shop next week.
Have a great weekend, friends!

28 Apr 2012 at 8:38 amSo beautiful! Thank you:)
p.s. Sara, iv been meaning to ask you forever and ever (i hope you don’t mind!) but can I ask what colour you use for your hair? Its amazing!! I live in England so not sure if I would be able to get it here, but its just so perfect, I admire it every time I check your blog:) Thank you, sorry for being cheeky!

2 May 2012 at 9:47 amOh Hannah, this is not cheeky at all! I don’t mind answering this. In fact, this is the number one question I get, haha. I plan to add the answer to my FAQ as soon as I have a definitive one. My hair color was actually discontinued a while back, but I still have a few boxes left from when it went out of stock. As soon as I find a new alternative I promise to share it on my blog. I’ve heard people have had the same results using henna, and also in the UK a color called “Copper Penny”.
I’ve found over the years of trying to find the perfect red for me (orange, natural red instead of the apple or wine red) is to look for colors that say “copper” or “copper blonde”, or even “strawberry blonde” and to stay away from colors that say “auburn”. I hope that helps!

27 Apr 2012 at 9:43 pmThese are gorgeous Sara. I hope I’m able to experience the cherry blossoms in Japan someday.
You should consider turning the blossom shots into postcards for your shop! I know I’d love a set!
Sara
2 May 2012 at 9:48 amI think I will do just that! Thank you, Jade. (And I truly hope I experience the blossoms in Japan again one day as well.)

27 Apr 2012 at 7:58 pmSuch lovely photographs! I’ve always wished that I could live closer to an area where cherry blossoms bloom. Sadly the season for them was over when I visited Japan two years ago. 🙁
