Spurred

A Mug Shot, Squirrel, and Engrish

Yesterday marked day 100 of the prompt a day project! The neat thing about posting the photos from this project after the fact is that I get to read the text I wrote to go with it at the time (so I wouldn’t forget) and already see how things are different or changing. As hard as they are, as frustrated as I get, as much as I want to cross my arms and say “NO PHOTO TODAY”- I really benefit a lot from these photo-a-day projects, if even to look back on the minor details in my life. (For example, three years from now I will most likely have a new favorite tea mug and I will look back fondly on this photo and remember it.) Winter is the hardest part because I’m continually trapped indoors and the light is terrible and I’m basically miserable about it the whole time, but now the light is up and shining all day, and by dinnertime the light is pouring through the windows and I almost feel like dancing around the apartment with my camera. (Can’t you just see that?)

Mug Shot

My favorite mug. If you haven’t seen it before on this blog it reads: “MUG OF TEA”. You can’t tell, but it’s almost as big as my head.

Dining

Om nom nom.

Teamwork

This is my first attempt at a panorama. Some parts didn’t work out the way I wanted due to overlap, but I’d say it’s pretty good for my first one.

This photo was compiled from six separate photographs. Now that’s team work!

Don’t worry, be happy

Sustain Happiness For The Life
Protect Nature And Ensure Healthy Life With Right Eating Habit

I’ve always loved gifts from Japan (bento, clothes, stationary) because often times they put cute English text on it that is slightly off. “Don’t Worry, Be Happy” reminds me of something you’d often see. I have a journal that says, “Have You Been To The Land Of Happy, Where Everyone Is Happy All Day”

Oops

This is our first plant, Bob. We named him Bob because Tom used to joke about naming every character he ever wrote/played Bob. It’s been a eight year running joke between us and I agreed to let him name this plant Bob, assuming he wouldn’t be with us for long. It’s been just over a year since we picked him out. The night before I took this picture Tom rushed into the bedroom in quite a panic. We’d forgotten to water Bob! The ends of his leaves have always been a little cracked and gross (Google tells us it’s because there is too much crap (salt?) in our water or his pot is too small. We suspect it is a mix of both.) But when I looked at him he was completely bent over and really almost dead. We watered him immediately and today I watered him again (checking to see if his soil was bone dry first!) and gave him some tender love and care with a spray bottle and sang to him.

I really don’t want him to go, regardless of his name.

Strong

I piled on the goals this year. 52 books, 52 recipes, and a photo a day! Unbelievable! I have really high hopes for this year, though. I think I can do it. (I’m still going strong!)

I love learning about photography through your posts ^_^ The Brenizer method was new to me too. Also, tea! ^_^

That panorama shot is totally seamless–wow! Good job!

First and foremost, HI and THANK YOU!

Haha, I guess “panorama” was the wrong word, but it’s the right image! It’s compiled from six different photographs using my 50mm and the Brenizer Method. It’s the same method used to make panoramas, though, so I get some credit there!

Oh gosh, no need to apologize! You’re right, it’s not technically a panorama at all. =)

I still haven’t perfected the method but it is quite fun to try! Let me know if you have any success with it!

Oh, Bob. That’s funny. I name everything Bob too. I have a favorite tree that I used to climb at the old capital in Colonial Williamsburg here in Virginia. I named him Bob. There’s a tiny tree beside him that I named Bob Jr. I hope your Bob is hanging in there. We have a plant just like this in my office and I’m having the same problem keeping it alive. Must be all the “crap” in our water. lol
