Thomas & Sara

To Honor And Cherish

Last year today, this happened. Now I promised myself I wouldn’t get too sappy, and I certainly won’t do a post like this every year (because who wants that?), so instead of weeping over my keyboard about how lucky I feel I am, I thought I would take today to share with you a little project I’ve been working on in my spare time (what spare time?!).

You know how sometimes couples will have a website for their wedding info with photos, the engagement story, and directions and RSVPing online and all that other wedding-related hullabaloo? Well, we had one of those too, but when the time came to renew the domain or let it expire, Tom and I really didn’t want to put it to rest. So this was born. Originally we intended it to be just a storage space for our wedding photos, so family in Ireland, Alaska, Michigan, etc etc could see and get prints of the photos they liked. But then we got a little carried away and decided we wanted to include updates of our life here and there, old photos, and then finally video blogs (really?). Feel free to poke around if you wish, but I warn you, it’s still majorly under construction. And I hope you don’t mind that I hijacked Caturday. =)

awww the website about you two is just so adorable!
I’m so happy for you! You look so wonderfully happy!
I must also say, your projects are a great inspiration to me. I’m getting married in a year & a half. (Spring of 2013) & you’ve given me the courage & inspired me to take more photos of Andy & I together, or just of him, & our times together. You’ve made me realize how badly I want photos of us, since he’s going into the military & I might not see him very often. I love your photos & what you photograph. You really in truly take photos of the things you find important & it looks like you love to do it. Your passion for them is just amazing.
Congratulations to you both! I hope your happiness continues for a long time.

Thank you so much for your comment, Ashley and congratulations on your engagement. I really do love taking photographs of all the small moments (they are big to me) and I’m so glad that I could be a little nudge in your direction for you and your husband’s memories. I will take a look at your blog too, I can’t wait to see them.

      Warmest wishes!

Curiousity led me to read you & Tom’s story. I found it very inspiring. I met my current boyfriend online, in a forum site, we have been talking for two years now, and been committed to each other too, after realizing that our connection was something that we’ve both never found before — something uncommon and special. It’s amazing how close you can be to someone through intimate conversation, without physical presence. We are over 1600 miles away from each other, and I have never met him in person before – something I cannot admit to most family or friends for fear that they will try to pry me away from him. But we have been through good and bad, and we will do anything to be together, to piece together the financial and educational means to be together. Basically, this is something we plan on having forever.

Reading your story let some of the pressures of this kind of nonphysical relationship be released, at a time where there are worries floating around for me and my love. Although I know our stories aren’t anywhere close to being the same, I just want to thank you for being such an inspiration. (:

Thanks so much for your comment, Tobi. Sorry it took me so long to reply to it. I loved hearing about your story because I definitely can appreciate the stress and worry that comes along with having a long distance online relationship- especially with someone you’ve yet to meet in person. I’m so glad to hear you feel it is forever and are making plans to make it work. It makes it so much “sweeter” once you’ve gone through all that hardship to make it happen.

If you ever need someone to talk to about it, feel free to email me, I’m always up for a chat about these things. If I can lend an ear I’d be happy to. (saralynnpaige (at) gmail (dot) com)!

Woop woop! Happy anniversary, you guys! They say the first 2 years are the hardest. I know for Chris and I that was definitely true, but it seems like you and Tom were made for each other. May the next year come to you guys as easily as the last!

Aww, thank you so much. =} Did you and Chris live together before you were married? (I ask because perhaps that sort of thing would make a difference.) And I honestly can’t wait (okay, maybe I can) until we’ve lived together for twenty years and can tell other people a hundred embarrassing stories about our time together.
