Yesterday was a holiday for Canadian’s (Victoria Day) complete with store closings, days off work, and fireworks! Quite the exciting surprise for me! I wonder how it would feel if an entire country celebrated your birthday? Strange, I’d imagine.
[flickr size=”small” float=”left”]http://www.flickr.com/photos/simplystardust/3546235490[/flickr] Tom and I went to the park (maybe some of you remember the delightful walk Tom and I took last month, where I saw a beaver for the first time- this is that same park) and had a little picnic in the sun.
Speaking of remembering things. Perhaps some of you remember the suspension bridge I was hesitant about, spanning the river? (I guess this depends on if you read my LJ or blog.) You do? Well, great, because it broke.
[flickr size=”small” float=”right”]http://www.flickr.com/photos/simplystardust/3546086402/[/flickr] It appears that the actual bridge itself is completely fine, but on one of our recent blustery days, it whipped so hard that the frame cracked.I must admit I’m a little disappointed because Tom tells me they may not fix it at all, but simply take it down. I thought it was a fantastic addition to the park and I’ll be sad to see it go, if that’s the case.
In other news, our neighborhood smells of lilacs and it leaks into our room thanks to our lovely window fan. It reminds me of my mother’s back yard, which in turn makes me a tiny bit homesick. I miss the pear blossoms.

19 May 2009 at 9:23 pmI literally laughed out loud at the suspension bridge thing. xD Only because you said you were nervous about it earlier. That sucks that they may not fix it…wouldn’t that limit access within the park? 🙁
Beauuuutiful photos as always! <3

The light and color in your pictures are always so amazing. I’m always so jealous. :p
