I received my
previously mentioned batch of
Moo business cards today, and I am SO thrilled with their quality and construction, and equally moved by
your encouragement and support, that I am pleased to announce my very first
giveaway on this blog. That’s right. (Ooh, exciting! I’m excited, are you excited?)
Photographers, artists, musicians, writers, actors (would your headshots on the back be cool or what?!) or even recent graduates look out, because here’s your chance to snag your very own set of personal high quality business cards. It doesn’t matter if your business is already in the works or these business cards are your first step, I want to support you. (I took the leap and
so can you!)
What To Do
All you have to do is leave a comment below using an email you can be reached with and tell us (me and fellow readers, of course) a little bit about your business (or your future business)! You have until midnight on Sunday, August 22nd EST.
The Details
Business cards allow up to 10 different images or designs, and are printed in full color on both sides of the card, on premium quality, sustainably sourced stock paper and comes in a 100% recycled box.
If you don’t want to upload your own images, Moo offers a variety of ready made sets as well.
You will need to send me via email your address and optional image files (JPEG format for photographs or vector-based PDF for graphic design and line art, maximum file size is 50 MB each ) within two weeks of winning the contest or the cards go to the next eligible contestant. Please note the Moo recommended size for your photos is: 1039 x 697 pixels (300dpi) and the minimum accepted size: 332 x 223 pixels (96dpi).
These business cards will be from printed and shipped directly from Moo.com so processing and handling times may vary. (I received mine in two weeks from ordering.)
US and Canada only and only one entry per person, please. Winner is chosen at random using a generated script.
Good luck!

21 Aug 2010 at 1:54 pmI’ve recently gotten more into writing on my website. Once I get more of a readership, I hope to make my blog into something that can contribute to making a living. I went to school for journalism but haven’t used my degree since I got it two years ago, and I’m finally writing again, and about things I want to write about. Thanks to Sara; she gave me the push to do this. 🙂

17 Aug 2010 at 9:52 amIs it weird to have a contest with so many friends competing? (I’m not entering the contest, just asking a question, lol) I have two sets of the moo business cards, one for photography and one for China studies, and I love them both!
Sara
17 Aug 2010 at 4:14 pmI don’t think so, since nobody is really competing (I don’t think?), because the winner is chosen at random through a generator. It’s not like they’re running a marathon or anything. Or like I am judging comments and picking the best. =]

17 Aug 2010 at 8:34 amPer our conversation I’m getting my head in the game to get my photography “business” up and running. As NYCC is in a few weeks I would LOVE to have something like this to hand out. :]

17 Aug 2010 at 1:09 amGreat idea for a giveaway!
I’ve been pretty lazy about getting business cards made, but I remember way back when Moo was new on the US scene and every Flickr user was entitled to their 10 free minicards. I was definitely very impressed by the quality, too.
So excited to see who the winner is and what their cards turn out like! (I’m withdrawing my eligibility ‘cos I already planned on giving my money to Moo. Figure I shouldn’t dilute the odds for everyone else since I can afford it).

17 Aug 2010 at 12:37 amFirst I wanted to express my gratitude for your kind comment on my most recent blog post. Your website is magic, and I’m so glad to have been led to it.
I am currently in the works of started my own business. I am a poet/artist and would love to use the unique Moo cards to capture the eccentricity of my work.

16 Aug 2010 at 8:04 pmStrictly speaking I don’t have a business; I’m an English teacher at a high school in Japan. I’ve been dying to make business cards for over a year now (as soon as I knew where I was coming) & even have a design scratched out, but never got around to it. I know this is US-only, but I still have a US address where all of my EVERYTHING gets sent! (Feel free to pull my name from the contest if you feel I’m ineligible; no hard feelings.)
Sara
16 Aug 2010 at 11:56 pmThe only reason I did a restriction is because it was insanely expensive to ship outside of the US or Canada, so as long as you have a US address, I don’t mind leaving you in. =]

16 Aug 2010 at 5:44 pmI love Moo and I think your cards turned out sooo great! I love your color theme. I have some cards for my photo “business” but I have yet to make cards for my illustration work, so it would be so awesome to win!

16 Aug 2010 at 4:28 pmGreat idea for a first giveaway! I’m trying to become an independent videographer. I’m already is, part-time, but would like to do it full time, filming events, shows, gigs or conferences. Those business cards could certainly help me to do it!

16 Aug 2010 at 3:44 pmOh how lovely! I currently run my own jewelry business on Etsy & I would love to feature my work on my business cards. I’ve been creating pieces while attending school full time & I’m hoping lovely business cards that are creative and eye catching will help propel my business onto another level. I’m proud of my work & I’d love to showcase it somehow! Thank you for the opportunity! 🙂

16 Aug 2010 at 3:13 pmI’d love to have a set to help me really solidify my new goal of becoming a published author. Something to help take it out of that ‘well it’s something that would be nice and that I could probably do’ realm and into the ‘I am ACTUALLY doing this!’ realm. I’m sure you know what I mean 😉
