The Burren Room

Oh, Moher Lodge, how you stole my heart. The farmhouse was absolutely beautiful and the husband and wife duo were SO welcoming and genuine. They helped everyone who stayed figure out what they should see while in the area, made suggestions, gave directions, and struck up conversation. And they just happened to be great cooks too.

Staying here was one of the best decisions we made because it enabled us to see The Cliffs of Moher (one mile walk from the B&B), Doolin Cave (biggest stalactite in the world open to the public), the Aran Islands, and Bunratty Castle (about an hour south) before heading in to Galway and then to Achill Island.

When I woke, slipped into my robe and pulled back the curtains, I gasped. “Darling, LOOK!” City had been replaced with luscious rolling green landscape and adorable cottage homes with smoke rising from their chimneys. And animals were roaming everywhere! I was completely stunned by its beauty (and spent maybe twenty minutes at the window just admiring). Next up, The Cliffs of Moher!

Oh my goodness, everything is so beautiful. I’m in love with your photos from this trip! They are so warm and fit perfectly with an idea of a honeymoon!

Were you using a new lens (I remember you bought one in preperation for the wedding but don’t remember what) or sticking to the handy 50mm?

Almost all the photos I took were with the 50mm! We had a 24-70 on hand (Tom’s favorite) and he used it with the XTi, but I just couldn’t let go of my baby! (Plus, that other sucker is HEAVY!)

Awww. That is one of the best parts of traveling, imo. Just sitting at the window, soaking up every last detail in hopes that you’ll never forget it and carry the memory with you always.
