2012A Rescued Caturday

A little while ago on Twitter I mentioned some exciting news, but I wanted to wait until I had some photos to go with it to announce it on the blog. And what better day than Caturday to mention that I’m now working with Toronto Cat Rescue to provide quality photos of the cats who are looking for their forever homes! Last weekend was a huge adoption weekend, and out of twelve cats in our area, nine were adopted. The only three remaining are Yuki (who was renamed to Zelda at her new foster home due to the triangle on her nose), Anastasia, and Millie. The second cat pictured (all black with her cute tongue sticking out, with the name Pepsi) was adopted! I met a lot of wonderful cats (and some great people too) and I really cannot wait for my next shoot with TCR. HAPPY CATURDAY, FRIENDS!

Beautiful pictures..!
Yuki was adopted this past sunday!
Sara
Alison, thank you so much for letting me know!
Eleonora
What a lovely collaboration!
And those cats are so cute, I hope they’ll find a forever home as soon as possible. Moreover the eyes of the first 2 cats are stunning: I’ve never seen that colour!
Sara
I agree! So green and beautiful! The first two cats were both adopted! =)

What happy news
And it’s so great that you’re working with a cat rescue! I’d love to work with the local shelter or a local rescue sometime in my life.
Sara
Thanks, Jessica! I’m very excited because they are the group that helped us rescue Atlas so I’m really happy to be returning the kindness.
Janice
Awww, they are so cute! And hey, I had no idea you lived in/near Toronto! We’re the same!
Sara
I know! We should meet up some time for a photo adventure. =)
Marie
You rock!! Thanks for helping the kitties.
Sara
Thanks so much, Marie! I hope I can a lot more in the days to come.
Mariana
That sounds so wonderful, and the pictures are beautiful.
If I lived in Toronto I’d definitely adopt- I have one cat I adopted 2 years ago and I feel like it’s the best thing I’ve done in life
Sara
Mariana I share your sentiments. All three of our cats were rescues and we wouldn’t have it any other way!
Kathryn
congrats! certainly sounds like fun (and hard work, too), they made a wise choice for cute cat photos!
Sara
Thanks so much, Kathryn! I hope to bring their personalities out so that people can connect with them and bring them home!
wendy
AWESOME. and your photographs of these beauties are fabulous too. Congrats and best wishes for more success stories!
Sara
Thank you so much, Wendy!
Jennifer
Congratulations on the job with the rescue! That’s such a wonderful cause to work for. Hopefully more kitties will get adopted. I love that the one was renamed Zelda
Sara
Me too! And “because of her nose”- I definitely went “Daaaawww” when I found out. She was apparently adopted this past Saturday! (YAY!)
christina
aw…these photos make me want a cat SO badly! Unfortunately, though, my husband and I both have pretty bad cat allergies.
Sara
Oh, so sorry to hear that Christina! Allergies can be such a drag! Tom is actually allergic to cats as well (it used to be MUCH worse, and he’s gotten much better over the years) and he SHOULD keep them away from his face when he cuddles but he just can’t stop himself. I will give our boys hugs from you and your husband!
Diana
Kitties! I’m happy for you and happy that you’re helping them being adopted. It’s been proven that it makes a HUGE difference having a professional photographer take the photos for this kind of place. Go Sara!
Sara
Thank you so much! I read an article a little a while ago about a photographer that did the same at a dog shelter and it made a world of difference, so hopefully we can do that too. =)
Ashley
that’s terrific! you’re amazing at photographing cats, so I’m not surprised that they want you to work with them.
this is such a happy story! I wish I lived nearer, and that Andrew and I had our apartment already, b/c I’d adopt one. They’re beautiful cats!
Sara
Thanks, Ashley! There will definitely be a perfect companion for you and Andrew when the time is right! *wink*
