Halloween is only three days away, but since it falls on a Wednesday this year all the parties and gatherings happened this weekend. It’s been fun for me browsing through profile photos on Facebook and checking out who was what this year. I’m excited for my costume, it’s the first year I’ve done any actual planning since I was Jem from Jem and the Holograms, and I’m excited! I’m going to be a zombie! And since there’s only three days left of our anniversary project, Tom and I are going to hold off sharing this week so we can have the last three photos included in the digest. Instead I decided I’d share some of my favorite vintage Halloween photos. What are your plans for Halloween this year?

30 Oct 2012 at 10:57 pmAhhh! Jem! What a great costume! I think there is something so deeply beautiful about vintage Halloween photographs.
Cory and I celebrated this weekend since Cory works nights. We carved pumpkins, dressed up as Andy Warhol and Edie Sedgwick, bought chocolate, and went out to dinner and a movie! We also stopped by the Ace and got some photo booth strips taken. It was such a fun night…

2 Nov 2012 at 9:01 pmI love that you two had a celebration together on a different day! I think it’s fun to celebrate holidays as partners! As IF you needed another excuse to have a date. =)

we don’t celebrate Halloween in Australia…or at least we didn’t use to, I think it’s gaining popularity. But I don’t think my family will ever celebrate because that’s my little sister’s birthday.

2 Nov 2012 at 9:03 pmHappy belated birthday to your little sister! It might be fun to celebrate the day before Halloween and at least carve a pumpkin just once! It’s so much fun. =)

29 Oct 2012 at 2:20 amI don’t know if it’s the unique qualities of these vintage photos or not, but some of these are a lot scarier than what I’ve seen over my halloween years!
Where I live, just like the *real* changing colours of leaves (I love the photos you’ve been posting with colourful leaves!)we don’t really celebrate Halloween, which is my favourite holiday, but I’ve got a pumpkin costume for my baby daughter, but still can’t decide how to make myself a little festive too. Happy Halloween!

29 Oct 2012 at 7:34 amI agree! The three kids sitting alone with masks on and then the family with the three kids and the classroom full of kids are the ones that scare me the most!
Happy Halloween, Roanna!
