Carving Pumpkins

Tom and I had a lot of fun carving our pumpkins today. It was his first time ever! We picked two small pie sized pumpkins, to keep it simple, baked the seeds and the guts are going to be mashed, cooked, and used for more bread, muffins, and pie. These photos are taken by both of us, of course. My favorite is the one with the lid resting on the table. (He took that.) He chose a classical jack-o-lantern design since we were using regular serrated steak knives. I tried to make a fox. Can you tell it’s a fox or does it look like a wolf? What designs did you carve?

I know, right? How on earth could anyone grow up without carving pumpkins?

That’s good because it totally looks like a squirrel from far off. =)
