We didn’t think we would be seeing each other for Christmas this year, can you believe that? Four months ago, Tom and I were talking about taking turns taking trips to see each other about once a month. I really don’t want to imagine how hard that would have been, but I am glad that I am here and we are celebrating our first Christmas together. Our first gifts to give together are wrapped and ready, we’ve helped decorate a tree, and tonight we will make our first gingerbread house. We also plan on opening one present each tonight (it’s a tradition in my family) and enjoying an evening by the fire with cocoa and cookies. (And maybe we’ll play some Final Fantasy VIII too, we started a new game a little bit ago- I’m having so much fun with Triple Triad)
Speaking of cookies- surprise package from my Grandmother!! Apparently she mailed the family members too far to gather (My dad, my cousin, and I) a box of her homemade delights!
I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas Eve and Christmas!!

24 Dec 2008 at 9:44 pmI hope your Christmas is amazing, Sara. Your grandmother’s cookies look just like the ones my grandmother used to make. That is the tradition I used to love the most, and we haven’t done it in years.
God Bless you and Tom. Merry Christmas!
