Lake Aquitaine

We are moving today. (And I think I’m sort of in shock about it because I don’t really feel anything when I type that.) Pumpkin and Atlas are completely clueless, but Morn has moved enough times to know (or at least be uncomfortable with) the boxes and packing up all the smells he loves so much. Here’s a funny, totally unrelated-to-these-pictures story for you: Atlas and Pumpkin have been having a lot of fun running around the house chasing each other around boxes, it’s like they are in a cat version of a James Bond film doing parkour off rooftops. Yesterday during one of their adventures a box of empty dvd cases (not very heavy) fell on Atlas and pinned him down. He just laid there though, wide eyed, and didn’t make a sound. I can barely type because I’m laughing so hard thinking about it. I just lifted the box up and he shook his head and then immediately restarted started his slow sneaky spy trek in search for Pumpkin (who was all the way on the other side of the apartment, laying in wait for him inside an empty box). I just realized I spent an entire paragraph talking about my cats, sorry if that was super boring for you.

Lake Aquitaine is (was) in our backyard. Now I’m sure there will be picturesque places in Oakville for Tom and I to visit for our daily walks and bike rides, but Lake Aquitaine was quite a joy and miniature retreat for us- I feel like these photos just don’t do it justice.

You say these photos don’t do the place justice–I can’t even imagine, then! These photos are stunning!

By the way, I love the little redesign and am really, really liking this new comment box!

Thanks so much, Alyssa! I still have a lot of work to do on the site itself but I love the new comment section as well- it’s what sold me on the design! =)

One of my favourite things about your blog is seeing pictures of places close enough to where I live that I can go to that I didn’t even know existed!

Wow! What a beautiful hidden gem in the city! I don’t know about Oakville, but the Hamilton/Burlington area is known (but not as much as it should be) for it’s trails and waterfalls, which I have fallen in love with despite myself.

Good luck with moving! You’ll have to share some photos of the new place when it’s all set up 🙂

I’m so excited to see photos of where you’re moving to 🙂 I love the process of discovering new favourite walking spots or places to eat. I hope the move went well and that the cats settle in alright!

Good luck with your move Sara! Your story of Atlas and Pumpkin made me laugh! It reminds me of what my cats, Pan and Jace, do! There’s never a dull moment with cats! That lake is absolutely gorgeous! I love the willows!
